Third Grade Thoughts

Weekly News from Glenhope 3rd Grade! (Volume 16-17,Issue 10)

Yearbook Online Ordering & Yearbook App

Glenhope yearbooks will be sold online until the end of January. If you order your yearbook online, you have the option to have your child's name embossed on the yearbook for an additional $5! To order your yearbook online, please go to:

http://bit.do/GlenhopeYearbook

We will also do a standard (non-digital) yearbook order (as we've done in the past) where you can send in checks/cash. That will be later this fall.

Yearbook app:

There is now an app where you can upload pictures you take. We can access these pictures and use some of them in the yearbook! This will help IMMENSELY because one of the hardest things is making sure we get pictures from all of our various events.

If you are interested, please download the app to your phone. Whenever you take pictures, upload them to the app. Even if you don't know if they are good for the yearbook or not, please feel free to download them to the app...the more we have the better! Don't worry about the quality of the picture...our program will tell us if it will work for the yearbook or not! :)

Here are the links to the app for either iPhone or Android:

Veteran's Day Flags: Homework

On Monday, we sent home a blank flag and instructions on decorating the flag. In November, our grade level is in charge of decorating the front hallway display and we would like to decorate it with flags in support of Veteran's Day. Flags are due back by Monday, November 7th.

Your child is free to be as creative with their flag as they would like...it could be made from many times of materials! We just ask that you keep it with the American Flag design and color theme (red, white, blue & stars/stripes pattern).

Student-Led Conferences

Next Thursday, students are dismissed early at 11:45 in order for us to hold student-led conferences in the afternoon. In previous years, we have always received two days in the fall and two days in the spring, but it has been cut down to one day this year.

Student-led conferences are an amazing way for you to meet with your child about their learning and goals. These conferences are intended to help your child communicate to you what they are working on and how you can help.

You should have received an email with sign up times this week. We hope you are able to find a time that works for you. If for some reason none of the times work, please contact us and we can work something out. Thank you! :)

Mistakes = Growth

We've been working hard to help students understand the power of making mistakes because those mistakes can lead you to new discoveries. Some are accepting mistakes even easier now but some are still struggling. We will continue to work with them!

LEAD WITH GCISD

Some of you may have seen the introduction to our new Mustang-Panther stadium that will be renovated as part of our bond that was passed last year. The current stadium is in great need of repair. To look at the proposed renovation, click here:
