Bobier Bronco Blast
News You Can Use - May 2, 2021
Good Evening Bobier Bronco Families,
Upcoming Announcements and Events
Hello Bobier Bronco Families,
This coming week is Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week and we have planned a fun series of themed days to celebrate our outstanding teachers who work tirelessly to ensure our students have an amazing education!
Fifth Grade Promotion Update:
Save the Date! We are excited to announce the parent fifth grade promotion survey results are in. The majority of our parents completed the survey and the majority have chosen a drive-through promotion celebration. Promotion will be held on June 16th. Additional information will be shared soon with our fifth grade families. We are so proud of our 5th grade students and we look forward to celebrating our promoting Broncos as they head off to middle school!
Don’t Forget Your Water Bottles!
The temperatures in Vista are warming up and we want to ensure that students stay hydrated. Please make sure to send your child to school with a refillable water bottle. Our drinking fountains have all been tuned into filling stations so it is important all students come prepared with reusable bottles to refill. Please clean the water bottles daily. We will also continue to accept water bottle donations. We want to ensure our students stay safe, healthy, and hydrated!
We are excited to collaborate with UCSD on the Safer at School Early Alert Pilot, also known as SASEA. SASEA is an early alert monitoring system for COVID-19 through daily surface samples from the classrooms. All of our Classic students brought home an informational letter and Opt-in forms for responsive COVID testing for the SASEA project. We had a great parent information session with the UCSD SASEA (Safer at School Early Alert Pilot) team this past Friday. Thanks to all who attended and asked great questions. To participate in this important project, please return the Opt-In forms as soon as possible. Please view the informational video below.
Student Pick Up Important Information
If you are having anyone pick up your son or daughter from Bobier Elementary School office please make sure you add them to your emergency card online through your parent portal account or come update your contacts in the front office. Please call the office in advance to inform us if someone other than parent or guardian will be picking up your child from the office.
We are required to check ID for all adults who pick up students from school. Thank you for helping us keep all of our students safe.

2021-22 A.S.E.S. Application for Enrollment Available ONLINE NOW!
Bobier Elementary is able to offer the After School Education and Safety (ASES) Grant Program, both before and after school. The grant program will begin on the first day of school and will continue through the end of the school year. This is a cost-free grant program providing homework assistance, tutorials and enrichment activities for your child. The ASES grant is based on student attendance. To accomplish grant goals participating students are expected to attend the full duration of the program hours (beginning at 6:30 AM before school and until 6:00 PM for Elementary Programs/ 6:08 PM for Middle School Programs after school). Enrollment in the grant program comes with the understanding that your child(ren) will attend every school day.
If you agree that this grant program is something that will benefit your child, please fill out the ONLINE application at: https://forms.gle/Yx9cnZiG4EEfZE1s9 or request a paper copy from the site leader.
Due to the unforeseen circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, acceptance and registration for the 2021-22 ASES Program will be postponed until further guidance is received regarding future health and safety protocols. At this time we are uncertain of the school structure of the upcoming school year. Prior to enrolling students into the ASES program we need to ensure that our programs are able to comply with the county health orders. Updated information will be provided to you no later than August 9th. Acceptance letters will go out in early August; but in order to plan, we would appreciate your prompt return of the application. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Thank you to everyone who participated in April’s SEL Theme: COURAGE.
All of our students learned the importance of doing the right thing, no matter what. Bobier students learned that courage is more than just being brave, but actively choosing to face your fears in an effort to make lasting change. Rainbow Fish to the Rescue (Kinder-1st), A Little Spot of Courage (2nd-3rd), Courageous People Throughout History (4th-5th).
SEL Theme for May- HONESTY
This month, Bobier students will be receiving lessons on how honesty can help them not only tell the truth, but become a more respected and trusted individual. Bobier students will learn that being honest can help them improve their self management, build positive relationships with their peers and help with their decision making process. Honesty has the potential to build students’ character to do the right thing, even when no one is looking.
Our motto this month:
“Do the right thing, even when no one is looking.”
