Goldfields
Miners got lured by the lust and got their life in jeopardy. there was not that much gold and people still had to pay their liscense. To bad if you were there and you became poor and there was harsh punishment
Troopers in the 1851's
Troopers were harsh in the 19 century. Some of them were greedy and because there were a little in control they were comanding miners to give them money (in other words they were hypnocrypts)
Back pinching hard work
There were many different ways of mining but there were other things to stop this. troopers patrolled and asked the miners to show their license and if they did not have one they would be chained to trees or logs and be left there in the piercing cold in the moonlight or the blazing heat of the sun
The Raging Licence
The cost of the license was 2 pounds every 3 months people refused to pay so the governor sent police to the fields to check every 2 weeks miners believed only people who found gold should pay for the license. Just think about it
