FREE Counseling Available to MAISD Staff
FREE, Confidential, Professional Help for MAISD Staff
The well-being of MAISD staff is our top priority. During these unprecedented times personal and professional situations are changing daily, which can cause long-term stress. In April, the MAISD Board approved a contract with CUP-Health Mental Health and Wellbeing Services as part of a new employee assistance program to address the urgent needs of our staff members. Employees now have video and phone access to a Master’s level counselor for consultations, coaching, and counseling relating to stress management and mental health concerns. See the video below for an overview of CUP-Health program and services.
Help is just a click or call away
Don't hesitate to take advantage of our new, FREE employee assistance program! This program, provided by CUP-Health, allows those employed by the MAISD and their families to have video and phone access to Deedee DiTrapani, Master’s level counselor, for consultations, coaching, and counseling relating to stress management and mental health concerns. “I'm excited to partner with the MAISD where the leaders feel so strongly about staff wellbeing,” Deedee said.
To access these services simply call Deedee (pictured above) at (616) 607-8911 or email her at Deedee@CUP-Health.com. All services offered are confidential.
A few helpful tips to cope with stress:
Feeling torn
Thankful for family time AND exhausted by it? We encourage you to express your feelings by writing them down, talking with someone, crying, or moving your body.
Don't isolate
Stay connected in any way you can: phone, video calls, emails, messaging, etc. Be sure to also reach out to those who live alone, as this contact will certainly benefit both of you.
Manage Anxiety
How can you manage anxiety at home during a pandemic? Try to limit your consumption of news and social media. It also helps to identify anxious thoughts and separate them from facts.
