Welcome Back to School!

September is finally here and we are just weeks away from our first day of school! It's been a long road, but so worth the wait! We have a brand new school building, our expeditionary curriculum is top notch and ready to go, and our amazing staff is ready to greet your children. We can hardly contain our excitement! Below you will find information on upcoming events, important procedures, and volunteer opportunities.

Cornerstone Celebration

You won't want to miss this! Mark your calendars for Sept. 11 from 6-7:30 pm for our Cornerstone Celebration.

Come socialize with the HCC family, enjoy BBQ hotdogs, tour the school and our hiking trails! ICCU will also be here with give-aways and Share Bear savings account set-up for students. If you have uniform shirts that do not fit your child, this is a great time to bring them to swap with other parents. Don't forget your lawn chairs!

Back to School Sessions and Welcome Letters

This week our teachers emailed welcome letters to all families. If you did not receive one, please contact the school office at (208) 477-1812 or email us at info@haydencanyoncharter.org. We are offering 2 days of Back to School Sessions with your child's teacher. These are 30 minute sessions that will cover curriculum, student expectations, parent communication, and an intro to our online platforms. We are asking that all parents attend. You may use the link in your welcome letter or click below to chose a time slot for your Back to School Session.

School Supply Program

We have 45 supply packs filled with classroom supplies for students who may need assistance. If interested, please contact the school office at (208) 477-1812 or email us at info@haydencanyoncharter.org and we will gladly make arrangements to get one to your child.

Join Parent Crew

Our Parent Crew is hitting the ground running and would like to welcome you if you're not already part of the group! Parent Crew is HCC's parent volunteer group, like a PTO/PTA. They plan, coordinate, and execute events and fundraisers in support of activities, programs and items that fall outside of the school budget. All are welcome to join Parent Crew with no expectation of certain levels of involvement. The next meeting is TBD. For information about upcoming meetings and volunteer opportunities, please join the group on Facebook (HCC Parent Crew), and/or email them at HCCParentCrew@gmail.com to be added to their email list.

Bus

Our brand new bus was delivered last week! We are currently working on getting our bus registered, mapping out our route, and training our bus driver, please be patient as everything is taking longer due to COVID. We will let you know as soon as we are ready to provide bussing.

Drop-off & Pick-up Procedures

Due to COVID, our drop-off procedure will require temperature taking curbside. Please do not drop your child off without having their temperature taken. We will have numerous volunteers standing along the drop-off area to speed up the process. You will NOT need to complete a health questionnaire; we just ask that if your child has the following symptoms please keep them at home:


  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Unusual fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea




Students will be dropped off along the curb that runs along the front of the building. Each grade level will have a cone labeled with the grade; please drop your child off at the appropriate cone. We will be staggering the entry and exit times slightly to reduce the number of students in the halls at one time. Below is the schedule for drop-off and pick-up:
