A peek at our learning this week....
This week our class will be reading stories about sorting different groups of things in new ways. Children will learn how to sort objects by size, shape, color, weight, or texture.
Here are some activities that you can do with your child to help reinforce the skills we will be practicing.

- My Words to Know
High-Frequency Word: come, does Write the words come and does on paper. Then have your child write each word. Write sentences using each word. Have your child read the sentences aloud. Ask your child to circle the words come and does.
Category Words: opposites Say a word and ask your child to think of a word with the opposite meaning.

Notes from Mrs. Goldthwaite
It is amazing what we can do when we work together. Our walk a thon was a huge success. Thank you for all your donations. Our Field trip will be at no cost to our students. We wrote a grant and the monies we collected will cover all our cost. The money that we do not use will be in the Class of 2031 treasury that will follow them to the next grade.
We continue to work on our long vowel sounds. We are reading our own leveled books. Writing about the sequence of the stories and illustrating the key details.
In math we will continue to work on parts of numbers and counting to 100. What is one more and one less.
Thank you for all your support this school year. As the year is winding down. Please keep those routines in place. We are working even harder at this time to be sure we are ready for first grade.
