Message from Dr. Kaminski
BSE Parents and Community,
I am thrilled to announce that BSE has the wonderful opportunity to become a formal sister school with a school in Ningbo, China! This opportunity is one of a kind, and one that I would love to take advantage of for our BSE Bears. In my last school assignment, I had a similar partner in a different city of China, and the partnership had a tremendous, positive impact on the students in both schools.
The initial partnership would invite the students of Ningbo to visit us in August of 2017. In this case, about 25-30 students and a few teachers would spend a full week of school with our students, side by side. HSE21's quest to form global citizens and open the world to our students allows us a great purpose in developing this potential partnership!
If we agree to the initial visit, we will need homes in which our visitors will stay. I am eager to get your thoughts around housing two students while they visit for a week in August next year. If this is something that sounds exciting and valuable to you and your family please email me at dkaminski@hse.k12.in.us and let me know. Don't worry, the organization with whom we are working will provide a great deal of information for your success should you opt to open your home to our potential guests.
After the initial visit, the potential for the school-to-school partnership will open and the possibilities are endless! The partnership would open the lines of communication with our new friends. We would share artifacts, join in global learning projects, learn about one another's culture and cities, and travel to visit our sister school and city! Let's consider taking an opportunity to open the doors to a new and different world for our BSE Bears. Much more to come on this topic! For now, I am just eager to know how you feel about the idea. I will also send a three question survey Skylert next week to capture your thoughts.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Respectfully,
Dr. Kaminski
