Author's Point of View

"Perspective about a Subject"
Author's may express a neutral (objective) point of view. They may also express a positive or negative bias (leaning toward a certain viewpoint).
Things to Look For in the Text
They should look to see if the writer supported his or her ideas with reasons and evidence that can be proven or whether his or her views are unsupported opinions.
They should look for techniques that show the author may be trying to influence readers to feel a certain way about a subject. Figurative language or words with negative or positive connotations can affect readers and show bias or prejudice.

*Is this view supported with evidence?
*Is important information intentionally omitted?
