Augmented Reality Teacher Inservice
Coming to the library Jan. 8!
The Specials and Specialists teams have designed an augmented reality teacher inservice to help the staff review important concepts in Chapter 8/9 of the Math Classroom Discussions book. Faculty members will use the Aurasma app and Samsung Galaxy tablets to scan auras around the library. Each aura is linked to a different video made with apps such as Puppet Pals 2, Tellagami, and Morfo. These videos review key talk move ideas and pose discussion questions. At the end, we are going to scan two QR codes linked to videos of teachers demonstrating accountable talk skills from the Getting Started chapter. We're going to have lots of fun!
Alejandra and Kathy use the Puppet Pals 2 app to record a skit
Reading Academy Learning
Blake uses the Explain Everything app in the Vine video below to describe how Timothy and Phillip used resources around the island to stay alive in the novel The Cay. Ms. Kincaid's Reading Academy group will meet again Thursday, January 9 from 3:00-4:00 in the library to see what happens next in the novel. Click below and turn on the sound to see this app in action.
