Several fifth and fourth grade classrooms created a entire city plan as a way of learning about area, perimeter and volume. Each building was measured and students found the area, perimeter and volume of each building along with a descriptive paragraph about their building. This city, named Moonlight, even has a history about its origins!
We love projects that require our students to learn in an integrated manner.
This is math, ELA and social studies in one project!

Fourth graders on the Cunha/Luke team just concluded a Native American unit.
Students worked in teams (remote and in-school students) to create life-sized Native American along with speech bubbles to show how these people lived, what they believed,
what they ate and more. Despite the challenges of this pandemic,
our teachers and students are keeping learning hands-on, engaging and alive!
