Boomerang Honoree

9th Grader, Quinnie G., exudes confidence through her personal style, artwork, and musical pursuits. Although well bonded with her identical twin sister Willow, Quinnie is not afraid to venture down her own path toward her goals and dreams. Quinne’s self-esteem makes her a positive role model for everyone who knows her. Quinnie has a quiet way of making others feel comfortable while being her own genuine self. Her confidence is evidenced in her success as an outstanding student, a talented musician and a contributing member of our school community. Self-assured and exceptional, Quinnie’s self-esteem will help her achieve any goal she sets out to accomplish. Quinnie, congratulations on being Tamanend’s Boomerang nominee for December.

Honors Band

Submitted by Mr. Werner

On Thursday evening, 21 Tamanend instrumentalists traveled to Tohickon to participate in night one of the Central Bucks Middle School Honors Band Festival. This elite ensemble is made up of the top instrumentalists from all five middle schools in our district. The group sounded fantastic as an ensemble for the first time together while sight-reading! Mr. Werner is sure the concert on Saturday will be spectacular, to say the least. The concert will take place at 2:00 on Saturday afternoon and it is free to the public. If you have a friend in honors band, or just want to hear a top performing concert band playing some fun and entertaining music, join us at Tohickon! Congratulations again to honors band members for first making this ensemble and second for representing Tamanend in stellar fashion!

ANGST

The week after Presidents Day, our students will watch a documentary called ANGST. ANGST is a 56-minute film and virtual reality experience that explores anxiety, its causes and effects, and what we can do about it. The filmmakers' goal is to have a global conversation and raise awareness around anxiety. ANGST features candid interviews with kids and young adults who suffer, or have suffered, from anxiety and what they've learned about it. The film includes discussions with mental health experts about the causes of anxiety and its sociological effects, as well as help, resources and tools. While ANGST documents the struggles some people have with anxiety, it also reveals their hope for the future.

Parents and Guardians, you are invited to watch this documentary on February 12th at Lenape Middle School starting at 7PM. Here is the trailer and other information about ANGST: https://angstmovie.com/about/

Superintendent Parent Advisory Council Service Project

As a school and district we are committed to service in our community. For the month of February, all CB schools will support the Superintendent's Parent Advisory Council service project to assist non-profit organizations within our local community: A Woman's Place, gardens for local area nursing homes, and the Middle School Relay for Life. To that end, each school in our district will be collecting spare change. Tamanend's "spare change" container is located in our Main Office.
