MCES Weekly Top Five For Parents
UPDATES AND REMINDERS FOR THE WEEK OF January 18
A Message from The Administration Team
The administration team at Montclair Elementary School would like to thank you for your continued support and partnership. We want to inform you of some vital information from our school and Cumberland County Schools.
On January 12, during the Cumberland County Board of Education’s monthly meeting, Superintendent Dr. Marvin Connelly, Jr., announced an updated plan for students on the traditional and early college calendars to begin the transition to Plan B (a combination of in-person and virtual learning) on March 15, 2021, contingent upon the metrics and other factors that district officials continue to monitor.
Additionally, the Monclair Plan B Transportation has been postponed for a later day. More details about the date will be shared with families who have opted for transportation during the possible transition to Plan B.
Starting today, the students will take the Transcend Integrated Benchmark Assessment for parents of grade-level 3rd-5th students starting on January 19th. Students in the third grade take only the Math benchmark, and all other grades will take both Math and ELA. This assessment will be housed on Schoolnet. Students will be assessed on current and previously taught standards. Please allow the students to complete the Computer Adaptive Assessment independently.
CCS has extended the deadline for families to apply for the Choice Program for the 2021-2022 academic year to January 31, 2021. CCS encourages families to visits the Choice Program webpage on the CCS site to explore the educational offerings at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.
