DISTRICT NEWS
DBIC
Plano ISD is seeking faculty members and administrators to volunteer to run for election to the District-Based Improvement Committee. In compliance with Education Code 11.251, the work of the DBIC is to advise the Board or its designee in establishing and reviewing the District’s educational goals, objectives, and major District-wide classroom instructional programs. (A full explanation of the purpose of the DBIC is attached.)
The committee is comprised of 30 members, serving rotating terms, including teachers, parents, school and district administrators, and business and community representatives. Positions of faculty members and administrators on the committee are determined by election from a slate of volunteers who have applied for a position on the Committee. Representatives serve staggered three-year terms. The DBIC meets after school 3-4 times each year.
Vacancies to be filled on the committee are:
(4) – elementary school teachers (1 of whom attends as a non-voting alternate)
(1) – middle school teachers (who will serve as a non-voting alternate)
(1) – high school/senior high teacher
(1) – principal or assistant principal, middle school
(1) – campus professional, such as a counselor or administrative intern (who will serve as a non-voting alternate)
(1) – non-teaching district professional (who will serve as a non-voting alternate)
Employees who are interested in volunteering to run for a position should complete the application found at: http://tinyurl.com/PISD-DBIC-2016 . Please submit your volunteer application no later than Friday, September 9th.
September 6 (Tuesday) – Middle Schools (Grades 6-8)

CAMPUS NEWS
Curriculum Coordinator Visits
Tomorrow we will have a visit from our district curriculum coordinators. The purpose of the visit will help admin support you as we move towards our goal setting meetings. We will focus our meeting on Domain 2 in T-TESS (Instruction). Be prepared to have a group of admin conduct brief walkthroughs tomorrow morning.
August 31st for teachers and students. Teachers please report to the multipurpose room between 8:00am-8:45am. Mr. Lockett will send out a schedule for students.
Tutorial Bus
We will have a tutorial bus for only three days leading up to Lions Lunch. August 29th, August 31st and September 7th
Lions Lunch Duty Schedule (1st draft)
Attached in the email you will find the duty schedule for the first semester. Lions Lunch is from 12:28-1:36. "A Lunch" is from 12:28-1:00. "B Lunch" is from 1:00-1:32. Please make sure you are on your post at your assigned day and time. If there is a question about the schedule/your duty, please let me know. If you have any general questions, please send them to me and we will address them at the upcoming faculty meeting.
