MSAD's Family Newsletter
May Newsletter
Director's Corner
Hello Families & Students,
Welcome To May! It is hard to believe we only have 23 day of school left!
As we start to wrap up the school year, the end of the year serves as a great opportunity for us to look back on this school year, reflect on all we have been through and celebrate the tremendous growth students have made.
We started the school year unsure of what day to day practices would look like due to COVID and our Health & Safety Plan. With stringent restrictions, we had to continually evaluate and reevaluate practices on campus. For the majority of the year, we have experienced limitations in many of our school operations, limiting visitors on campus, mixing of pods, inability to go on field trips, masks, plexiglass barriers at meals, last-minute cancelations of sporting events and more than our fair share of quarantines.
Parents, students, staff, you all have done a remarkable job navigating these challenges. We know this year hasn't been easy, thank you for supporting our students, staff, families and each other!
Over the course of this next month, we want to celebrate all the learning that has taken place this year. With our first full year of in-person learning since 2019, our students have grown and matured in immense ways.
Included in this newsletter are upcoming dates for the rest of the school year, flyers for specific events, scenes from around campus, our trojan and athletes of the month, after-school program calendars and message from our mental health team.
Thank you for your support and the many ways you encourage each other and our students to ACHIEVE, CARE and THRIVE!
Sincerely,
Anne Grace Donatucci

Summer Opportunities Outside of MSAD
Summer Wilderness Inquiry Opportunity
One of our biggest programs, Canoemobile, is going to be traveling on the Mississippi River and other local waterways such as the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes or the Cannon River in 2022. The Canoemobile team travels the country with a fleet of 24-foot-long Voyageur canoes and provides participants with an awesome on-water experience. Typically, we also offer a range of land-based activities, ranging from teambuilding to water quality investigation.
Does this sound like a field trip your school would be interested in for 2022? In terms of cost, we have financial aid available for qualifying groups. I have included a link to our Canoemobile website, as well as an informative video.
