Natureplay News
January 2016
Happy New Year!
Happy 2016! We hope everyone had a wonderful winter break. We are excited to welcome the children back into the classroom - with shiny new floors, super clean carpets and a new layout. We have wonderful winter activities planned for January!
Holidays
We are closed the following days:
January 1st - New Years Day
January 18th - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
February 15 - President's Day
As with all holidays, you may chose to schedule a make-up day or have the day prorated.
Snow Day Policy
If the Desoto School District closes due to winter weather conditions, Natureplay Preschool will also be closed. Make sure to check the internet or news in the morning for current information about school closures. Please call before leaving home to make sure staff have made it to work.
Family Event
On Friday, January 8th at 11:30 am, Jo Ho will visit our school to tell some special stories about bears. Jo is a professional story teller and has worked in Rosanna's programs since 2002. She'll stay for about 45 minutes and involve the children in her fun stories. We hope you can make it.
Ready, Set, Hike!
Rosanna is offering some special classes outside of school hours. Join us on Tuesday, January 26th at 2:00 pm for a winter walk. You can sign up online or at the front desk. The cost is $3 per child, ages 3-7.
Tax Statements
Our JCPRD Registration Office will be emailing your 2015 child care expense report to you the week of January 4-8, 2016. Please check your inbox this week for that information as well as your SPAM folder in case it gets stuck there.
Winter Clothes
Please make sure to provide coats, hats and gloves/mittens daily. Snow pants and snow boots are necessary on cold and/or snowy days. It is VERY helpful to have all items labeled, as changing 18 children into snow clothes can at times be a little... chaotic :)
Thank you!
Thank you for all of your very generous donations to the classroom this December. The snack items, art supplies and new toys are greatly appreciated. Our program cannot run without your support, and we are very thankful to have such devoted families!
Containers Needed
We are going to do some fun ice activities in January and need some containers to freeze different shapes of ice. Please provide some butter tubs, almond milk jugs, etc. that we can use to make ice.
