Hispanic Heritage Month is Here!
We are already a month into school! This year is progressing, and so are students. We are so excited about the growth students are showing so far!
At Longfellow, we are looking forward to celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month! Through music, informational morning announcements, décor, and more, we are pleased to shine a bright light on Hispanic culture, as well as the Hispanic community's contributions to the world and to our own school community.
As always, if you need anything, please do not hesitate to reach out.

2. COVID-19 Update
WHAT TO KNOW:
Norman Public Schools will continue to follow the law.
NPS is experiencing a rate of COVID-19 growth we did not see last year.
To help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our schools, and to allow us to continue in-person learning, masks are expected for anyone in our buildings.
School visitors are required to wear masks inside our buildings
In keeping with new guidance from the OSDH and Cleveland County Health Department, any individual who is deemed to have been in close contact with a known positive case of COVID-19 will need to quarantine as a precaution and to help protect the health and safety of others.
We will continue to offer masks at Longfellow for those who need them. No student will face any negative action for not wearing a mask, but we hope that every student who can wear one does wear one.
3. Meal Benefits Form
We encourage everyone to complete a meal benefits form. If you already completed this form during enrollment, please disregard this message. While breakfast and lunch meals are free for all students this year, completing this form is very helpful in terms of providing funds for our school district. If your child qualifies for free or reduced lunch, he/she/they could also qualify for other helpful programs both within and outside of the school district.
To complete this form, please go to your parent portal account by clicking here.
After logging in, click on the word "more" and then "meal benefits."
If you have any questions, please call us at 405-366-5948.
THANK YOU!!!!!
4. BEFORE-SCHOOL INFORMATION
We want to remind you that we do not have any teachers on duty until 8:10am every school day. Many students get to school earlier and we have found some are choosing to leave campus, sometimes going to a nearby convenience store. We are doing what we can to monitor this and to remind students to remain on campus. Please reinforce this message at home, if you can. Thank you for partnering with us to keep students safe!

Norman Public Schools does allow you to request specific restrictions for your child. You may use the form linked below to view and request these restrictions. The form has links to more specific information, as well.
