Greetings...
Teachers,
"It is for us to pray not for tasks equal to our powers, but for powers equal to our tasks, to go forward with a great desire forever beating at the door of our hearts as we travel toward our distant goal." — Helen Keller
Blackman faculty and staff, enjoy the long weekend - rest and restore! YOU have the power.

Bilingual/ESL Department
Greetings from the Blackman High School ESL Department. Our office is located between C-14 and C-16. Please stop by to see us if you have any questions. We look forward to working with all of you this year in supporting our ESL students at BHS.
Each week, our department will be highlighting tips on ways we can support ESL students in the mainstream classroom. Below are tips that have been effective with the students:
- Allow for students to use their phone to translate on the Google Translate app.
- Provide instructions visually on the board or projector.
- Provide extended time on assignments.
- Build in more group work that fosters speaking skills at a lower-risk setting.

They go the extra mile to see that I not only get what I need to get by but also what I need to excel......"
