National Principals Month

October was National Principals Month, so students and staff around the district took the time to talk about their relationships with their building principals. Take some time and listen to just how much our principals are impacting the lives of teachers and students in our community. This week, we'll share videos from the elementary schools. Next week's blast will have videos for principals of the intermediate, middle and high schools.

If you can't wait, check out their videos on our district's Facebook page.

Shamrock Academy

Big picture
We want to send a HUGE thank you to the entire Westfield community for the huge response we've gotten for our inaugural class of the Shamrock Academy. We received more applications than we expected and that speaks to just how engaged and invested our community is in the education and the future of our Shamrocks!

The application period is now closed and we will be contacting everyone very soon to update them on the status of their applications. The application process for the 2022-23 class will open at the end of this current school year and run through the summer. Next year's class will run the entire school year.

Thanks again for the amazing response we've gotten and we look forward to a great program.

Westfield Apparel

As our Rocks football team continues its playoff push, now is a great time to gear up for those chilly playoff games with this long sleeve, Westfield Football shirt sold exclusively through the Rock Shop!

The Rock Shop is a student-run, student-operated shop with student-designed items. So, in addition to getting the latest apparel, you're also helping students get real entrepreneurship experience before they even graduate!

Apply for Financial Assistance

Even though school lunches are free to all students, to receive financial assistance for curricular materials (Chromebooks, textbooks, workbooks, classroom novels, online resources, and supplies like science lab chemicals, and art supplies) families still need to apply to the free and reduced program.

The application must be completed online. If you need access to a computer or assistance filling it out, please contact Gladys Salas at Central Office at 317-867-8002.

If you do not qualify for the free and reduced program, there are payment plans designed to help parents pay their student(s) fees in smaller amounts.

What to Do if You Suspect a Disability

If you suspect your child may have a disability or have concerns related to your child’s IEP, please contact your child’s teacher, school principal or call the student services/special education office at 317-867-8006.

For children at least two and a half years of age, but not yet age-eligible for kindergarten, you should contact the Early Childhood Assessment Team at Washington Woods Elementary (317) 867-7900.
