Principal's Message
We will begin the month of May with the celebration of our wonderful teachers during National Teacher's Day on May 2nd and the following week of May 8-12 as we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week. Teachers are the builders of the foundation of our society. No matter what you do as a profession, most of us have a teacher to thank for who we’ve become. Teachers educate our students so that they have a productive future as doctors, lawyers, police officers, retail workers, engineers, plumbers, caregivers, business owners, educators, website developers, musicians, realtors, artists, and other professions not named. None of the people in these, and other professions, would be where they are if a teacher didn’t first teach them how to read, how to resolve conflict, how to think critically, and how to communicate. Teachers are really good at doing a lot of work that goes unnoticed. From a student’s perspective, everything is magically organized and ready to go at the beginning of the day. Classrooms are decorated. Name tags ae carefully placed on their desks. Crafts are prepared. Supplies are organized. Seating charts are strategically arranged. Lessons are planned. Handouts are copied. Tests are created and modified for students with special needs. Data is assessed. Teachers are smiling and ready to tackle the day and provide our students a fostering and caring learning environment. We celebrate our teachers because they care about our students, their well-being, and want them to succeed in life. Please join us throughout the first week of May in thanking and celebrating our WGE teachers.
All parents and families are invited to our Open House on Thursday, May 18th from 5:00-7:00 P.M. in your student's classroom. This is a time when you come to see all the wonderful work that your child has achieved throughout the school year.
Our Kinder Team will have a Mother's Day Tea party on Monday, May 8th. Each Kinder class will have a designated time during a rotation period. Each class will be presenting one song and poem to their mothers during these times. Kinder parents, please keep an eye out for a ClassDojo message from your child's teacher.
