PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Stone Families,
STEAM Night! What a night! Last night's STEAM night was truly incredible. Students and community members worked with science, technology, art, music and created hands on mathematical activities all while collaborating, laughing and smiling. I have to say Stone really has it going on! Thank you to everyone who participated in our STEAM night. Thank you to our community partners (Eckerd Connects, NASA, Northrop Grumman, STEAM Power for Kids) who provided real life, hands on activities for all participants. I am honored to work with teachers and staff who make STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) a priority! A huge shout out to Ms. Romaine (STEAM Coordinator) and Ms. Harvey (Title 1 Coordinator) for organzing this incredible night!
Most importantly, I hope everyone enjoys Thanksgiving next week. With our busy schedules, it is hard to find time to express words of appreciation. Thanksgiving reminds us to stop and think about what we are thankful for. Today as we prepare to close school for a week for Thanksgiving, I can't help but think about what I am thankful for here at Stone Magnet Middle School.
- I am thankful for the opportunity to work with Stone's community, community and business partners as we work together to support all students.
- I am thankful for the ongoing dialogue with teachers working to support all students all while challenging students to work towards learning gains
- I am thankful for the continuous and tireless support of our Gopher team in all that we do each and every day: This includes, faculty, staff, students and parents!
- I am thankful for the opportunity to work with kids every day. There is nothing better than observing our student’s problem solve, work together, smiling, laughing, building on their educational skills, demonstrating their talents and working hard!
- I am thankful for Stone Magnet Middle School! Go Gophers!
Happy Thanksgiving, relax and enjoy the break!
Go Gophers!
Sincerely,
Courtney Lundy
