Amazing Pop Art as Never Before!

Pop Art is art based on popular culture, focusing on colour and context instead of detail. It became popular in the 60's, with Andy Warhol and many other famous artists, but is still enjoyed by many today.

A little bit about the artists...

Andy Warhol was a famous and legendary pop artists. He was born in 1928, and his parents were both Slovakian immigrants. He got a degree in 'Bachelor of Fine Arts' in 1949, and moved to New York to try and get a successful job as an artist. He is most famously known for his picture 'Marilyn'. 'Marilyn' will be on show, as will several more of his works.

Roy Lichtenstein did most of his famous work in 1960s America. he is most well known for his enlarged paintings mimicing the style of children's comic books.

Kiri Ley - New Pop Artist from Devon

I am a young artist whose partciular ambitions and desires lie with Pop Art. Andy Warhol is my inspiration and I love his work, but I try to make sure my own work is original and unique, as well as of my time. I am thrilled to be able to display some of my own work in this exhibition - it's free, so please come along and see it!
