In Person State Testing Requirement
In Person Required State Testing
Dear Aspire Families,
This semester our calendars will have days listed beginning this month of January for required state testing in grades 3,4,5,6,7,8,9, and 11th grade. Participation in state testing is required by the state for students to remain enrolled in an Arizona Online Instruction Program. Administration wants to ensure that we begin the messaging now regarding upcoming Spring testing for our full time students. We will work to create a safe testing environment for our students. Logistics for testing will be given after winter break. If you have questions or concerns please do not hesitate to call the school at 602-467-5755 or email us at Aspire@dvusd.org.
As part of the A.R. S. 15-808: Pupils who participate in Arizona online instruction are subject to the testing requirements prescribed in chapter 7, article 3 of this title. On enrollment, the school shall notify the parents or guardians of the pupil of the state testing requirements. If a pupil fails to comply with the testing requirements and the school administers the tests pursuant to this subsection to less than ninety-five percent of the pupils in Arizona online instruction, the pupil shall not be allowed to participate in Arizona online instruction. Students who do not participate in state testing are subject to loosing their open enrollment status at Aspire, Deer Valley's Online Academy for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Communication
Hello Aspire Families!
We appreciate the support you provide to help your students continue to grow and succeed as learners! Parent-teacher communication is valued by our entire staff. The best way to reach Aspire elementary teachers is by sending them an email. Student Canvas inbox messaging should not be used for parent communication. Teachers will respond to your emails within 24 hours. When they are engaging with students, they will not be able to address questions through emails or through Zoom. Thank you for your dedication to your scholar.

Aspire PTA!
Parents wanted to join the Aspire Parent Teacher Association and help lead!
Why be part of the PTA board?
- Help plan events for students (ex: online art night)
- Meet other Aspire parents
- Guide Fundraising events
- Determine how those funds will be spent
We are ready to take the next steps to form an PTA group! We are looking for 4 parents who are interested in running for the following positions: president, vice president, secretary, and treasure for the new PTA for our Aspire campus that plans to charter by the end of January.
The Aspire PTA will work to create opportunities for families to have community events including online fun, fundraising, etc.
If you are interested in running for a position, please email Dr. Victor at: Laura.Victor@DVUSD.org.
