Families of Color Meeting on Monday, May 6th
We are excited to announce the second meeting of the district’s Families of Color group. After a successful first gathering, the date for the next meeting is Monday, May 6 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. We will be meeting at the Webster Recreation Center located at 1350 Chiyoda Dr. (off of Phillips Rd.). Over 30 interested community members, including parents and staff members, attended our first meeting in March. During this first gathering, we began to develop a collective vision of Webster’s future as it relates to equity, diversity, and inclusion. The Webster Families of Color group’s mission is to bring together a strong collective of parents, concerned family members, and allies passionate about building a racially- and economically-just community. If you were unable to attend the March meeting and would like to come out in May, please feel free to join us on May 6th. Also, if you have friends, neighbors, or family members that might be interested in this group, please encourage them to attend, as well! If you have any questions or would like additional information please reach out to Terry McCarthy, the district liaison to the Families of Color group, via e-mail terrance_mccarthy@webstercsd.org or by phone (585)216-0080. Thank you for your support of this important initiative!
