Meet Warren...
The RHS Social Studies Department is excited to welcome Warren Salinger to RHS this coming week to speak to our students about his experience living through Nazi Germany. Students will hear about his personal story and have the opportunity to ask questions about his experiences during this coming week's Assembly block. Below is a brief bio with more information on Warren's life:
Werner (aka Warren) Salinger was born to a Jewish family in Berlin, Germany in April, 1932, ten months before Adolf Hitler and the Nazis came to power in January, 1933. As a youth he experienced Nazi Germany, including Kristallnacht on November 9th, 1938, in Berlin, then came to the US with his parents, arriving in New York on February 12th, 1939. He returned to Germany as a member of USAF Intelligence in December, 1951, serving in Germany for 3 1/2 years at the height of the Cold War with the Soviet Union. Werner has lived in Rockport since 1983 and now is also a winter resident of Arizona.
Please join me in welcoming Warren to RHS this coming week.
