SMG Library Updates

January 15, 2015

The book order for the year has come in! When you get a chance, please stop by to see what has been added to the collection!

Follett Shelf

Good news! The district has purchased a new database of over 1,900 ebooks for our students! You can access this new database with the link below. (Select our state and school, then log on with your AD credentials.)

Students will log on with the AD credentials as well. In order for this to work, the passwords have to have been reset since October. I will be working on reseting all of the student's passwords and will let you know when I am done.

My plan is to use the following log in for every student:

Username: Student ID # (same as library and ticket to read number)

Password: smgeagles

If any of your students' passwords have been changed for something else, and you don't want them changed, please let me know. I believe the only reason for them to have been changed is to have access to Canvas?

I will be introducing this database to the students during their next library rotation, but feel free to go ahead and show it to them if you'd like!

Pebble Go

Several people have asked me why Pebble Go looks different this year. The short answer is that library media services saw the value in Pebble Go and decided to pay for it for us. Woo hoo! They decided to pay for the science and social studies databases. However, if you don't think these databases will meet the needs of your students, I may be able to purchase subscriptions to the other available databases for our school. Please fill out the survey at the bottom of this newsletter so I can make an informed decision on what we need!
