Attention parents of 6th graders!
We want to remind you of the immunization requirements that affect all students entering the 7th grade next school year, 2021-2022. The requirements for 7th grade will be one dose of Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) and one dose of Meningococcal Conjugate vaccine.
Please contact the local health department or your child's doctor's office to schedule an appointment to receive these vaccines. If your child has not received both vaccines after 30 days of the first day of the upcoming new school year (2020-2021), s/he will be suspended from school until both are completed in accordance with NC State immunizations requirements. That deadline will be determined once the school calendar is released. We would like to have this wrapped up by the end of this school year if possible.
Please make sure to turn in an updated shot record to the front office or fax them to the middle school at 336.610.0819
*If you have a rising 12th-grade student they will be required to have the Meningococcal vaccine (meningitis-MCV4) this coming school year (2021-2022) as well.

Students are put in order of oldest to youngest and they will be in touch with you if your child was accepted for the class in April.
Registration for two new classes has opened up. Please go to https://www.randolph.k12.nc.us/driversed register.
If you have taken the book portion but need to retake the traffic law please visit the website above to sign up to retest.
If you have completed the book portion and have not done the following this will delay your child in getting scheduled to drive.
- Pay the $65 driver's ed fee. This must be paid at UCA HS and in CASH.
- If you took a private class and completed it but would like to drive through our Driver's ed program contact Ms. Parrish so we can transfer your child's paperwork to the DE office.

- Need to complete book hours or retest
If your child has completed all parts of the book portion and completed all the steps above you are waiting to be scheduled to drive.
Please be patient and the instructor will be in touch with you soon. They are behind going in birth date order and those who completed the steps above first.

Update on Hats and Hoodies
We hope you have had a great week so far. We wanted to make you aware of a policy change for the middle school. Due to the nature of mask-wearing, we are not able to see students' faces which poses a safety concern. When students wear hoodies and hats, it is exponentially harder to see their faces. We are asking that students not wear their hoods or hats in the building so that we can ensure safety in the building. Thank you for working with us to maintain safety in the building. Please let me know if you have any questions.
