Why Cross Country?

  • Because your child will be part of a team, and the team will be part of your child.
  • Because cross country builds the qualities of successful individuals: Work ethic, perseverance, and self-confidence.
  • Because running through our beautiful neighborhoods and canyons, and feeling the sun and air – it’s awesome. A good run is good for you. A good run is free and it’s always there, just waiting for you.
  • Because the pride your child will feel running a little bit farther and a little bit faster than yesterday – it’s the absolute best.

Parent Volunteers

  • This is a volunteer-based program. If there are no volunteer coaches, there is no team.

  • “Who me?”

    • Yes YOU!

  • “I’m busy. I might not be able to make it to every practice.”

    • Volunteer, even if you have only a day or two per month to give. You are not expected to make every practice.

  • “I don’t know anything about cross country.”

    • Coaches Terry, Erin, Laura, and EB will give you the know-how. But in a nutshell:

    • Parent-coaches supervise the athletes. You don’t have to be a running expert to be a coach.
