One more week until school starts, yippee!
Tomorrow the teachers return to school and that means they will be mailing you a postcard soon. Check those mailboxes starting tomorrow afternoon to see who's the lucky teacher! If you have neighbors, family and friends that are new to our school, but have not registered yet, please encourage them to do so asap. Our office will be closed tomorrow morning for our kickoff meeting, but we open around 10 am. Registrations will be Monday 1-3 pm, Wednesday 8-11am and 1- 3 pm. We will not be registering on Thursday due to Open House. On Friday you can register 8am-12pm.
If you have a kindergarten student, on the postcard you will also see your child's designated staggered enrollment day. OCS Kindergarten students only attend school a total of 3 days during the first week of school. Your kindergarten child will be assigned a start date of Aug. 26th, 27th, OR 28th. They will attend ONLY ONE of the first three days of our school year. All kindergartners will come to school on Thursday, Aug. 29th and Friday, Aug. 30th.
Don't forget, our Open House/Orientation will be on Thursday, August 22, 5-7 pm. Our Kindergarten will have a special session starting at 4 pm.Doors will open at 5 pm for everyone else. At Orientation you will be able to meet your child's teacher, pay school fees, receive important paperwork, sign up for financial assistance with lunch and fees, get your bus and car rider information, join our PTO and much more. Transportation (car riders & bus riders) will be in the multipurpose room. Homeroom teachers will be in their classrooms (maps will be provided) and in the cafeteria you can find our PTO, our new social worker, our cafeteria manager, the YMCA for before & after school care, Lowe's Foods to link your rewards card, and the Girls & Boys Scouts. Last year' s yearbooks and SBES t-shirts will be available for purchase in the cafeteria. Also Fuzzy Peach will be here and you can purchase froyo and toppings for $3 and froyo only for $2.50. The PTO will also be having some give away drawings for those that sign up and join Remind. Can't wait to see you all there!
