The Basics of Christianity
Hi, I'm Suhas Gillipelli, and I'm here to tell you about Christianity. Christianity is one of the religions that were influenced by Abraham, who is the common figure (there is also Judaism and Islam). Followers of Christianity are called Christians, and worship one god as a monotheistic religion, believe in one god.Yahweh. For Christians, the common holy site includes The Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem. The holy book for Christians is the Holy Bible. The key beliefs of Christianity is the Sabbath, or day of rest is on Sunday, the Holy Trinity, and base their beliefs on the teachings and life of Jesus Christ. Some holy sacraments are baptism, or marking a Christians entrance into church, and the Holy Communion, which is the sharing of wine and bread to remember Jesus' last supper(the last meal with his followers before he was crucified. The place of worship is a church, and the names of the worship leader include: minister, preacher, priest, and pastor. The most common sects include the catholic, protestant, and orthodox(ex;Greek Orthodox, Russian Orthodox,etc.). Important holidays are Christmas, celebrating the birth of Christ, and Easter, which celebrates sacrificial death and rebirth of Christ which allows to live with God eternally in Heaven.
