2nd Posting: Peer Buddies - Please Sign Up
Peer Buddies SIGN UP FORM
The Individualized Learning Program (ILP) is ready to begin the Peer Buddies program for the school year!! Peer Buddies is an AMAZING program that provides an opportunity for reverse inclusion, where the students come from their general education classroom into a special education setting to develop various skills, play games, and socialize with their peers who are also in the ILP classes. These opportunities primarily happen with Adaptive PE (APE), and in our Adaptive art and music classes. Additionally, the Peer Buddies are encouraged to engage in conversation, share interests, play games, and get to know each other during lunch/recess, and other social times of the day as well!
Participants in the Peer Buddies program will rotate through experiences in each setting (APE, adaptive music, and adaptive art) several times throughout the year. On average, participants attended a class once a month, and each class is 30 minutes long. Ask anyone who participated and they’ll tell you it was easily worth the time and an incredible experience!
We would love to have your child participate in the Peer Buddies program! Please fill out this FORM if your child is interested! We had over 140 students participate last year, let’s beat that number this year!! If you have multiple children interested, please fill out a separate form for EACH child.
We are looking forward to another wonderful year of the Peer Buddies program!
