Week of December 6th - 10th:
- Parent Services Project's technology workshop for parents on 12/6 from 4:30 - 6:30 PM
- Food Pantry on Tuesday, Dec. 7th from 3:45 - 4:45 PM in front of the school
- Bilingual Citizenship Class on Wednesday, 12/8 from 5 to 7 PM in the MPR
- COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic on Thursday, 12/9 from 10 AM - 3 PM
Week of December 13th - 17th:

Family Center Update
Dear Venetia Valley Families,
Since this is the last newsletter before the holidays, the Family Center wants to wish you all a Happy Holidays and a Prosperous New Year. Thank you very much to all of our families for all of the support that they have given us and for all of their participation in our events. Remember that the Family Center is here to help you.

What is happening in the Family Center/Community:
PTA Hot Chocolate Sale- Dec 6th and 10th
Every Monday in December from 7:30 am to 8:55 am in front of the Family Center the PTA will be selling hot chocolate and sweet bread. Hot chocolate at $2.00 and Sweet Bread at $1.00.
PSP- Parent Service Project- Mondays 4:30 pm- 6:30pm
Families if you need support with Parents Square, Aeries, or other technology. Join us on Mondays to receive support.
Food Bank distribution happens every Tuesday from 3:45 pm - 4:45 pm
Families, remember that bags of food are handed out every Tuesday in front of the school. Feel free to stop by if you need this service.
Safe Routes Monthly Challenge- Wednesday 12/1/21
On Wednesday the Safe Routes table will be on the blacktop before school. Please encourage your child to participate by bringing their participation card for November, and grabbing the one for December. Students who participate can enter a raffle for scooters. December participation cards are due on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2021. Have your student turn them in at the Family Center.

Citizenship Classes- Wednesdays from 5pm to 7pm

What is the SSC?
The School Site Council (SSC) is composed of the school principal and a group of people, selected by their peers, representing all segments of the school community: teachers, support staff, parents, and student members at the secondary level. The common goal and focus of this elected body is to support student success. The SSC does this by developing and monitoring the implementation of the school’s plan for the school year known as the Single Plan for Student Achievement.

Charla with Mr. Q is an opportunity for families to ask questions or share concerns about what is happening in Venetia Valley. Get information about services or events that happen in our community. And it's also a great place to meet the VV staff and their roles. We hope you can attend.

Community Hikes- Dec 11, 2021
Join us this month for our VV Community monthly hike. This time we will be walking the Mill Valley - Sausalito Path and we are meeting at the Manzanita Parking Lot: 40 Shoreline Hwy Mill Valley, CA 94941 at 8am. We hope to see you there.

What is ELAC?
The School Advisory Committee for English Language Learners or ELAC (English Language Advisory Committee), serves as an advisory group to the principal and school personnel on programs and services for English Language Learners, in those schools that have 21 or more students in that category.
