Indonesia is very different from life in America. The leading religion in Indonesia is Islam. It has the world's largest Muslim population at 86%. Their beliefs are all influenced by Hinduism, Buddhism, and animism. They study the book called the Qur'an and they worship in the God, Allah. The main diet of Indonesians is rice. This is cooked in numerous ways. Beef and chicken are also very popular there. They use coconut milk to cook lots of their dishes. Some of the vegetables that they eat are watercress, spinach, green beans, and cabbage. The breakfast of Indonesians usually consist of rice or noodles, vegetables and meat in the afternoon, and leftovers for breakfast. The clothing in Indonesia is very different. The women wear dresses and for work, everyone wears different types of uniforms. Daily, urban women wear western dresses and for special occasions everyone wears special attire.

Climate, Geography, and land

Indonesia is mostly made up of volcanoes. There are over 100 active volcanoes in this country. Indonesia has a tropical climate that is home to many animals and plants. Indonesia is home to tigers, monkeys, elephants, deer, tropical birds, Komodo Dragons, lots of marine life, and an abundant amount of tropical plants and flowers. Indonesia's rain forest are being cut down and deforestation is threatening many species that live there. The Coastal areas in Indonesia are hot all year. Temperatures range between 72 to 84 degrees Fahrenheit year-round. The land in Indonesia is also very polluted. Many diseases can result from this such as cholera, malaria, and dengue fever. The air in Indonesia is often hazy because of air pollution.
