NC Check-in
Dear Parents,
Asheville City Schools is participating in the “NC Check-ins” which are short, formative standards-based assessments that will be administered three times this year. 5th grade will take the math and reading assessment, and 4th grade will take the math assessment only. The tests are approximately 20-25 and should last no longer than 90 minutes. These assessments will inform teachers about where each child is in relation to the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. Students and teachers receive reports that show exactly how they performed on each strand and question, and teachers can use the information to adjust instruction and support for students as they advance through the year.
Please plan to have your child to school on time for their assigned testing dates this fall:
5th Grade Math - Monday, November 6 (8:30 a.m.)
5th Grade Reading - Wednesday, November 8 (8:30 a.m.)
