**Updated Information**
- ECFE, ECSE, Preschool, and Elementary Shift to Distance Learning on Thursday, November 19.
- No school for ECFE, ECSE, Preschool, and Elementary on Tuesday, November 17, and Wednesday, November 18.
Dear Preschool and Elementary families,
Earlier this week, we communicated about our preschool and elementary schools transitioning to full-time distance learning on November 30. Unfortunately, due to a rapid increase in COVID cases in our community, we need to move preschool and elementary students to distance learning sooner than originally planned.
Here is our new preschool and elementary timeline:
Tuesday, November 17: No school for teacher planning
Wednesday, November 18: No school for teacher planning
Thursday, November 19: Distance learning begins for preschool and elementary students
November 23-24: Distance learning continues
November 23-24: Preschool conferences
November 25-27: No School/Holiday Break
Distance learning for all grades will continue at least through December. You will receive a separate communication with additional information about your child’s program soon.
Several of our Adventure Connection sites are also impacted. If your site is affected, you will be notified.
We know that our schools have been a relatively safe place for students to be; however, increasing numbers of staff and students are now required to quarantine at home, whether testing positive themselves, or because they have been identified as close contacts of other positive cases. With this, we have reached a point where we no longer have enough staff available to stay open for in-person classes.
I am hopeful that if we work together as a community, we can reduce COVID spread and eventually bring all of our students back to school, where they belong.
Sincerely,
Christine Tucci Osorio
Superintendent
