Loch Raven Reporter
To LRHS Freshmen and Sophomores from the College Counselor
It's Never Too Early...
...To start thinking about your plans for after high school, even now when things are so uncertain. My name is Ms. Campbell and I am the College Counselor here at Loch Raven High School. It may seem like it is too soon to plan for life after high school but the time goes quickly. This year, I will be publishing a newsletter just for Freshmen and Sophomores and their families to let you know about events at school and in the area, as well as what you should be doing now to prepare for your future. Think about it this way...when you are applying to college, a tech school, looking to go into the military or into the world of work, whoever is looking at your application, will only have your body of work from 9th , 10th and 11th grade to go on. That's why it is so important to make every day count in high school. I am available at Loch Raven on Mondays and Thursdays, and every other Wednesday. Your school counselors at Loch Raven are here everyday to help as well. See below for their contact information. You may always contact me at scampbell3@bcps.org. Let me know how I can help you!
What you should be doing now!
-Attending all of your classes online. Make sure you are on time to class and ready to go, just like you would if we were face-to-face.
-If you have an opportunity for an assignment redo, do it!
-Need help in a class? Ask your teacher for help. Attend your teachers' office hours and use the opportunity to get help early. Don't wait for the end of the semester for help.
-Learn how to take GOOD NOTES! Here's a great video to check out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5cQ5bWLi2A
