Crossroads Middle School
GO RED! GO WHITE! GO CATS!
Hello, Crossroads Families! With football season upon us and hopefully the 90 degree days behind us, it can only mean that fall is staring us in the eyes. My Spartans have started strong and Mr. K's pathetic maize and blue team even managed to pull off a win even without their coach on the sidelines last weekend. This means the office is alive with a (generally) friendly rivalry!! Thankfully we can agree on our love of the good ol' Wildcats on a Friday night!
Our calendar starts to get busy with our Crossroads fall sports starting up next week! We encourage our students to come out and support their friends and classmates at our home sporting events. We just want to make sure they are always being positive fans and cheering when our own Wildcats do something good and NOT cheering against our opponents! The cost for students to get into a home sporting event is $2 at the gate. The adult rate is $3 and a family under one roof is $5. Concessions are always available at an additional cost. We do not accept card, unfortunately....only cash for entry at the gate and at the concession stand. We can't wait to see you there!

Student Device Insurance Plan
Northview Public Schools issues Chromebooks to all of its students. These devices are traditionally kept at school for grades DK -2; students in grades 3 through 12 often transport their Chromebooks to and from school.
As we roll out these devices, we have encountered issues with breakage, loss, theft, damage, etc. Because we do not want to pass excessive costs back to parents, Northview partners with an insurance company to provide parents with peace of mind for devices that are under their responsibility.
We are happy to announce that we are working with School Device Coverage, who has been in the Chromebook insurance business for 9 years and as a company for 34 years. It insures some of the largest districts in the nation as well as individual small schools. We have negotiated an annual cost of $26 and want you to be aware of this optional insurance package.
We will have an open enrollment period from Sept. 5th to October 21st
To learn more about the details of this, please read our FAQ document to get started.
School Breakfast and Lunch
For the 2023-2024 school year, Northview is excited to offer free breakfast and lunch to all students. This will save families valuable time and money!
Even though meals will be provided for free, it's important for families to complete the free and reduced price meal application at https://northview.familyportal.cloud/.
Families who qualify under this program are eligible to receive additional benefits, such as discounts on home internet, discounts on high school Advanced Placement (AP) test fees, etc.
Completing the application helps Northview, too! For example, the district may receive additional funds to enhance educational opportunities as many state and federal grants are based on the number of students eligible for free and reduced price meals.
We appreciate you taking the time to complete the online application today!
Mobile Library Book Return
Did you know that staff recognizes students that demonstrate Responsibility, Respect and Positive Behaviors by gifting them with "Northview Bucks"? Students can enter their Bucks earned into our weekly drawings. Multiple winners are chosen randomly each week and the students can choose an item from our prize box.
Donations are needed to help fill our prize box! The front office is looking for small prize items (candy, gatorades, gum, fun pens, locker magnets, etc) and $5 gift card donations to various businesses along Plainfield Avenue. If you would be willing to donate to our program - please send in your donations to Mrs. Swayze in the front office.
Crossroads will once again be offering the Hand 2 Hand program on Fridays starting Oct 6. This program is discreet and anyone qualifies regardless of income. Weekend food bags are discreetly placed in lockers during 7th hour every Friday. Please fill out the permission slip and email it with any questions to Sarah Reames at firstname.lastname@example.org
The permission slip can be found at the link below.
