April 2022
April Update
Parents,
Welcome back, I hope that everyone had an amazing spring break. There will be a lot going on in the coming months and we are excited for the challenge that the home stretch of the 2021-22 school year will bring.
ISAT’s - Starting next Wednesday, April 6th, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade students will be taking the ISATs. Through collaboration with our technology department, teachers, and other administrators, we have developed a schedule that we believe will set our students up for success. Students will only be taking the ISATs one day a week (April 6th, April 13th, April 20th, and April 27th. 5th Grade students will take an additional Science ISAT on April 12th), which will allow students and teachers the ability to focus on instruction the majority of the week and not be inundated with assessments. Students will also be taking ISATs in the morning, allowing students to have more focus. If a student happens to miss an ISAT, they will need to make it up during the Friday make-up window.
Kindergarten Open House - Open House will be on April 20th and will go from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This will be an event for all of our future Wildcat Kindergartners! If you know anyone who will have a Kindergartner next year, please remind them to register and attend our Open House. There is a flyer below and a link to sign up for a time frame to visit.
Lucky Duck - Teacher appreciation week is May 2nd-6th and Mr. Jensen is excited to bring back the Lucky Duck event. Teachers and staff will each pick a rubber duck with a number on the bottom and each day Mr. Jensen will draw a few random numbers to give away prizes. If you would like to participate and donate to this fun event, please send a small gift to the office for our Lucky Duck raffle. Ideas for gifts but not limited to:
1 Dozen Doughnuts = 12 drawings for one day
Soda or sweet treats
$5 dollar gift cards (Amazon, Dutch Bro’s, Crubl, Crave, McDonald's, Taco Bell, Jersey MIkes, Subway, anything you can think of)
We will not accept cash donations.
Be creative and show our amazing teachers some love! Last year we were blessed and able to give way some pretty amazing gifts!
Donations can be dropped off at the office or brought up by your student.
Teacher Requests - Teacher requests will be available in the office on April 15th and must be turned in by an adult before Apr 29th.
Respectfully,
Mr. Jensen

Draw a Colorful Math Facts Garden for Spring

It’s amazing how many math games you can play with sidewalk chalk! For this one, kids draw a basic flower with 10 numbered petals, as shown. Then they write a number to add, subtract, or multiply by in the middle and fill in the petals with the correct answers.
