Thank you for sharing your music with us, Malvyn!
Ms. Pachon's art students were treated to a couple of lessons from guest teacher Isabel Halpern of ArtReach San Diego. Isabel was the leader of the team that painted our new mural last year!
The paintings are alebrijes, which are a traditional art form from Oaxaca Mexico. The students used acrylic paint pens on paper and paint on canvas to create their drawings.
This magical style of art must be seen up close to fully appreciate the fanciful details and patterns!

For Seniors applying to a Cal State college
Here is some important information you will need to know as you complete your application. If you have any questions please let Mr. Zappala know ASAP or email Maria Thrasher at SDSU at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Students can only list one major when applying to San Diego State. All majors at San Diego State are impacted, meaning that each major (including undeclared) receives more eligible applicants than they have spaces to accommodate. When applying to other CSU's, check to see what majors are impacted at those.
All seniors applying this year should take the November SAT test to hopefully improve their eligibility index. Any student applying from the local SDSU admissions area receives additional consideration when they apply.
The three things that SDSU considers for first time freshmen admission includes:
World Language Assessment Testing
Thursday, November 14 / 12:00-2:00 / Room 1
STUDENTS CAN DEMONSTRATE PROFICIENCY TO FULFILL GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Dear parents of 7-12th graders,
The language acquisition office will be conducting world language assessments at MEA on November 14th at noon. These are the languages offered. Passing this assessment will grant students credit for 2 years of world language proficiency equal to the SDUSD world language graduation requirement. If you feel as though your student can pass this assessment, please e-mail Mr. Zappala at email@example.com and he will arrange to have an exam ordered for your student. In determining your student’s eligibility, at a minimum, students should be able to read in the language tested.
