Rougher Roundup Parent Edition
3 Houses - 1 Rougher Family (March 2021 Edition)
Note from Reverentia House Principal
Hello Rougher Family,
Here at the high school, we are gearing up and super excited about our students returning to in-person learning. We knew coming into the school year that there would be time missed due to Covid; however, we could not have anticipated the events that have happened over the last three week period with the winter storm and then the damage to our building as a result of the winter storm. Thank you so much for extending grace and flexibility to our team as we navigated these unchartered waters.
The good news in all of this is that the Covid vaccinations have reached Phase 2 which means educators can now get the vaccine. Many teachers and staff members have expressed excitement over the fact that this will hopefully allow us to get back to some sense of normalcy and many teachers have already taken advantage and received their first shot. We truly want students back in in-person learning and we know that students learn best in this environment so we are hopeful that this will help us in keeping our students in school.
We have parent-teacher conferences scheduled for March 4th and March 9th from 4:00-7:00. Our teachers have been busy making phone calls in order to schedule these conferences. If you would like to meet (virtually) with your student’s teacher(s) and have not had the opportunity to sign up, please contact your student's House office, and we can get you a slot. Again, these conferences will be conducted in a virtual format where teachers will contact you by phone or Google meets in order to bring you up to speed on your student's academic progress.
Finally, summer seems a long ways away, but our students have a great opportunity coming up to attend our free summer school. We know with Covid and students moving in and out of in-person learning that many of our students have fallen behind. Summer School will be a great opportunity for our students to get caught up on any credits that they missed out on over the past year and will help to get them back on track to graduate on time. We sincerely hope that you will consider enrolling your student in this great program and best of all, it is free!
Thank you again for your continued patience and understanding throughout this entire school year. We appreciate your support and we look forward to continuing our partnership with you for the remainder of the school year.
Sincerely,
Josh Regnier
