Woodland Springs Update
May, 2021
OUR MISSION
In partnership with students, families, and the community, we at Woodland Springs, will provide a safe and positive learning environment. We will help each student to be successful, accepted, and empowered by creating a love of learning and building positive relationships that challenge, encourage, and respect our community of learners.

RAIN PLANS
If it rains on the day of the picnic, students will still celebrate Beach Day by eating in the cafeteria on their beach towels. Snow cones will still be served, and students will enjoy those in their classroom. Parents, however, will not be able to attend as visitors are still not allowed in the building. Decisions will be made the morning of and communicated out via Blackboard and social media.
4th Grade Celebration
We are excited to announce our plans for 4th Grade Celebration! In order to accommodate all students, including our remote learners, we will be doing a drive through parade for our 4th Graders on Wednesday, May 26 from 5:30-6:30pm. Since this celebration will be held outdoors, we will not need to adhere to capacity limits that are imposed on an indoor setting. We encourage families to decorate their vehicles and allow ALL of our staff to celebrate students as they drive through our front loop. More detailed information to come.
RAIN PLANS
The parade will continue as planned as long as there is no lightening in the area. Decisions will be made that afternoon and communicated out via Blackboard and social media.
Kindergarten Celebration
Please join us on Wednesday, May 26 at 10:00am to celebrate our kindergarten students. We will be having a short recognition on the basketball court prior to the kindergarten picnic and snow cone party. No seating will be provided, so please bring a lawn chair or beach towel to sit on the lawn while our students sing a few songs led by music teacher, Mrs. Lavu. You may then stay and join students and teachers for lunch on the front lawn.
RAIN PLANS
In the event of rain, each classroom will hold their own Kindergarten Celebration via Zoom. Classroom teachers will send out the zoom link for parents to participate virtually. Decisions will be made the morning of and communicated out via Blackboard and social media.

School Supplies 2021-2022
You may also go through PTA for prepackaged supplies if you choose. This is a service provided by PTA and not a fundraiser. Deadline to order is June 1.
Student Devices
WSES will be sending students home with their Keller ISD-issued electronic devices at the end of the 2020-21 school year. There is no cost to use a KISD device, but parents/guardians will be asked to cover fees associated with missing or broken devices.
Students not returning in the fall will return their devices on/by May 24. Students that are currently remote and not returning next year will be able to drop off their devices from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. in the front office before the last day of school on May 27.
If you would like to opt out of having your student bring home his or her device over the summer, please complete the Student Summer Device Opt-Out Form. If your student opts out of taking their device home, they may receive a different device when they return to school.
4th Grade Students
WSES will be collecting Keller ISD-issued student electronic devices on Tuesday, May 25. Students that are remote will be able to return their devices and chargers in on/by May 27 in the front office.
