Shorewood Hills Shark Tooth
December 17th, 2020
The last day before winter break is always one of my favorites. It has also been wonderful to see the excitement and energy this week!
I am including some initial information about discussions to reopen school below. Regardless of when we reopen, we need to take the time now to prepare for this. Therefore, please see the save-the-dates for family info meetings regarding reopening. These will be used for me to present information that I know at that particular time and to answer your questions. There is a fair amount to be decided at the point but no matter what potential reopening looks like, I know the staff here at Shorewood will make it great!
Have a wonderful winter break. I hope everyone gets time to relax and rejuvenate. See you in the new year.
In partnership,
Anne Gillespie
Interim Principal
Potential Reopening
MMSD is currently making plans to reopen schools! The decision has been made to bring pre-K through second grade back first. WHEN this will occur has not been decided. Superintendent Jenkins will make an announcement about this on Friday, January 8th. At that time, we will also have much more information about what coming back to school will look like. This information will include such things as school start and end times, class rosters, safety protocols, and our teaching and learning model.
You will have the option to send your student back or not. So you can make an informed decision, please save the date for the info sessions listed below! I will present info regarding opening and will answer your questions. Note, I will keep these dates and times regardless of when school reopens. I will also share information via School Messenger.
Family Info Sessions on Reopening:
Monday, January 11th 6:00-7:00 PM
Tuesday, January 12th 9:30-10:30 AM
Wednesday, January 20th 6:00-7:00 PM
Thursday, January 21st noon-1:00 PM
