Happy MLK Day!
I just love this quote from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. As a staff member, and a parent of children at Jackson Elementary, I can attest to the focus we have not only on the intelligence of our students, but also on helping them develop strong character. Thank you for trusting us with your children each day. It is truly a pleasure.
Thank you to all the families who have worked on attendance over the last two weeks. We are down under 10% chronically absent again! 9.71% to be exact. (Even last week we were over 11%). A big shout out to the 4th graders, who surpassed 3rd grade to have the most students with over a 95% attendance rate for December. I can appreciate how hard it is to get young kids out of the house, and please know we understand the struggle. Consistent attendance is crucial for our student's growth and we are proud of our Jaguars who've worked to improve their attendance. WELL DONE! Now let's finish this semester strong!
Warmly,
Principal Kasia Gutierrez
