Friday Focus
Deneen sent out a declaration of intent document earlier Friday. You can also access it here. This is completely voluntary. As Deneen stated, we do not have allocations for next year yet, but this does help us plan for next school year (yes, already!).
Talent show practice will be in the music room on Thursday at 7:10.
Remember to let the office know when your parties are if you have not already.
We had a very successful walk through visit with Mrs. Robinson this week. One place for us to grow is by finding ways to engage all of our learners. During guided reading, how can you encourage more dialogue between students?
One way is by using the Turn and Talk strategy. It's simple, but effective! Have you explicitly taught your students how to turn and talk? It seems basic, but post-pandemic we often forget all of the things students need to be taught (or re-taught). Because of pandemic restrictions, we often forget some of these simple strategies because students were not able to be in proximity to turn and talk.
Refresh your ideas on this strategy and seek ways to implement it during your guided reading lessons - and beyond - to help students take ownership of their learning.
Check the link below for research on why it is effective and reminders on how to implement.
Schedule for the Week
Fun Fridays
This week... see if you can identify the cute couples in the lounge and what decade the photo was taken. Put your responses in the envelope outside of Christine's office.
AND.... because we have so much love to give- Grab a small note and tell a colleague why you LOVE to work with them!
