What he is known for

Kareem Abdul-Jabar was a Famous basketball player played for the L.A. Lakers and the Milwaukee Bucks he won 6 MVP awards and 6 NBA titles 5 with the Lakers. In college he was recruted to play at UCLA he led them to 3 National titles. Finshed as the leagues all time scorer. He retierd in 1989.


By the time he was 9 he stood 5 foot 8 inches. When he was in 8th grade he grew another foot and could already dunk a basketball. When he retiered he was 7 foot 2 inches.

Most interesting thing I learned

When he was born his name was Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor Jr. Now it is Kareem Abdul-Jabar.

In November 2009 Abdul-Jabbar was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia, but his long-term prognosis looked favorable. In February 2011, doctors declared the retired NBA star cancer free.


His talent was celebrated as early as high school. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was born Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor Jr. on April 16, 1947, in New York, New York.
