Poco a Poco Farm Update & Sign up
Summer will need some help on the farm as Jon is recovering. She'll need help with some farm tasks. Their farm is not too far away in Gainesville - 3030 Pierce Rd Gainesville, GA 30507. Many of you told me at pick up that you want to help out so I'm attaching the SignUp Genius link for you to signup https://www.signupgenius.com/go/904054BAEAC2CAAFA7-farm Thank you in advance for helping them and showing your support for what they do for us!
*Note: We love your little kiddos, but if you sign up please don't bring them to help on the farm this time. Later on, when things calm down, we'll ask to have a farm tour event that can include the little ones then.
It's CHEESE week!
New Vendor! Pure Abundance Cashew Cheese
Hi there! We produce our artisanal vegan cheese at our Cheese Lab in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward. We combine traditional methods with modern technology to create cultured and aged Cashew Cheese that’s kind to your body and our planet.
How do we do it? Organic cashews and supporting ingredients are blended with a vegan probiotic culturing agent and aged in our cheese cave for 11 days. A complex and satisfying flavor profile emerges as the magic of chemistry transforms a few simple ingredients into exquisite cheese
If your past experience of vegan cheese was something bland and heavily processed, you’re in for a treat. This is not that! Pure Abundance fans are omnivores, vegans, and everyone in between.
Grass Fed Cheese group buy
This weekend we will be taking orders for grass-fed cheese from Coulter Farms Cheese!
The Coulter family produces Grassfed Cheeses, from their own Certified Organic, 100% Grassfed Jersey Milk right on their farm in Honey Grove, Pennsylvania. This is truly "raw milk" cheese, never heated above 102 degrees. Low Temp Pasteurized and Raw Milk Cheeses will be available.
*** I will place our order on Sunday evening but don't expect it to arrive until the following Wednesday, June 24th pick up. If it arrives earlier I will let you know. ***
If it is raw milk cheese it is aged 60 days according to FDA regulation. All other cheeses are low temp pasteurized. Raw milk cheese that is listed on the market is safe for human consumption and is aged at least 60 days per FDA regulation.
Prices and available sizes will be on the market website tomorrow for ordering. The pricing will include shipping and taxes/fees.
- Cows Raised without synthetic hormones
- Cows are grass-fed and raised on pasture
- Old World, Handmade Cheese making Techniques
- Cheeses made with non-homogenized low temp pasteurized or raw milk and aged at least 60 days to comply with the USDA regulations for raw milk cheese production

- Considerably higher in beta-carotene, vitamin A, vitamin D, and vitamin E than cheese and other dairy from grain-fed sources
- High in the healthy calcium and protein your body needs
- Free from growth hormones and antibiotics
New Vendor! BFit BFly
I'm very excited to welcome Tawana Cherie Miller of BFit BFly in Sugar Hill to our family of local producers! Tawana makes Gluten Free | Plant Based | Vegan | Soy Free | No Refined Sugar | Low Glycemic | Organic| Prepared Meals, Sprouted Oat Granolas, and Vegan Cookies in a certified kitchen in Atlanta.
We started off just having her sell in the store but we can't keep her products on the shelves! We usually sell out of her vegan prepared meals the same day she brings them! Her items are a hit and we thought it would be a good idea to start taking orders on the online market so more people can enjoy her food. Her food is just as amazing as she is! Check out some info about her below. She has a wonderful story and we are honored to have her in the store and now on the online market as well!
How Did It All Start?
My company literally started in my kitchen because of my lil guy, MJ. A fantastic funny kid, who so happens to be on the autism spectrum.
Leaving corporate America to take care of my son and also discovering he had food sensitivities, forced me to quickly establish a new normal as a stay-at-home mom and adjust the way I prepared meals.
So, I got in my kitchen and started experimenting. I loved it so much, I decided to take plant-based cooking courses to learn about whole organic foods, plant-based nutrition and proper cooking methods. Developing healthy plant-based meals was an eye opener. My son’s food sensitivities were getting better, and I was also feeling and looking better.
Then it clicked, why not inspire and help others on how they can “own” their healthy through the power of food…thus creating BFit | BFly.
Shiitake Mushrooms are back on the market!
Here are 8 Shiitake Mushroom Benefits:
- Fights Obesity
- Support Immune Function
Destroy Cancer Cells

Contain Antimicrobial Properties
Boost Energy and Brain Function
Provide Vitamin D
Promote Skin Health (acts as natural acne treatment)

Coronavirus Precautions
We are trying to do our part to part to prevent Coronavirus from spreading to our community.
Changes to pick up:
1. We are limiting to 3 shoppers at a time inside the store in order to keep you and our employees safe. We ask that you keep the recommended 6 feet distance from others.
2. Fresh Harvest Bins - If you have a Fresh Harvest delivery tomorrow and would like us to leave your bin outside the store, please email me by this evening. That way I can let the delivery driver know which bins to leave outside in front of the store. My only concern is the risk of theft. We'll do what we can to keep an eye on them but can not be held responsible. We're trying to do the best we can with the situation.
3. We ask that you please refrain from touching store items except those that belong to you or that you choose to purchase in the store. If you have any questions, please ask an employee for help.
4. No Egg Cartons or recyclable items will be taken until further notice.
In addition, as we've been doing for the past weeks, we will be constantly wiping down door handles, shopping carts, Ipad screen, and tables.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT AND PATIENCE AS WE GET THROUGH THIS TOGETHER!
Wednesday pick up time frame will remain from 1 pm to 8 pm but we are reducing our other weekday hours.
Volunteers
Many of you have offered to help Volunteer at the market and we will graciously accept your help but after we get thru the coronavirus crisis. We would love help assisting members during pick up and explaining to new members the pick up process. Once it's safe to have more than 6 people in the store at a time I will ask for additional volunteers on Wednesdays.
