CSD Weekly Update #27
WEEK 27, March 19, 2021
Dear Cambrian Families,
It was certainly an exciting week in the Cambrian School District. We have been able to welcome many of our amazing students back to in-person learning at all of our campuses. This week, we saw our TK- 6th grade students and SDC middle school students on campus, and next week we will culminate our reopening with our middle school students, grade 7-8, at Steindorf STEAM Magnet School and Price Middle School.
For these families returning to in-person instruction next week, please take a moment to review this checklist for parents/students. It is also available in Spanish. Also, please make sure to review the Cambrian COVID-19 Safety Plan (CSP), and COVID-19 Prevention Plan as to all the protocols and safety procedures that have been put in place.
The excitement translates throughout our community with students returning to campus. In Cambrian we are also well on our way in preparing for the 2021-22 school year. If you know of someone who recently moved to the area and have young children please let them know to register their children for Cambrian School District. We want to make sure that we get the word out that enrollment is well underway for the 2021-22 school year.
Again, thank you to all our amazing staff members and parents for their over-the-top assistance over the past year keeping students on target in their classes. It’s been a very challenging season for all of us, but it looks as though we’re moving in the right direction.
Have a wonderful weekend. We are Cambrian!

Food Service Complimentary Grab & Go meal process during In-Person Instruction
As we transition back to in-person instruction, we have made slight changes to the food delivery process at our school sites. Each day your child will have available a complimentary grab & go meal available to them. This will operate just like the current drive-thru process where the meal will contain a lunch for the current day as well as a breakfast for the following day. These meals will be available at the exit points around campus.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to logistics and traffic flow, Fammatre families will need to participate in the drive thru process at Price rather than picking meals up at exit points on the Fammatre campus.
Price families - when you return during the week of March 22nd, complimentary meals will be provided on campus for your students.
The Price drive thru delivery process will continue daily from 11a - 1p as well for families in the VSP or on alternate hybrid days.
Preparing for the Return to in person learning
Does your child have a medical condition that requires medication while at school?
ASTHMA
If your child has asthma and requires an inhaler while at school please complete the asthma emergency care plan. The emergency care plan provides the staff and school nurse with necessary information to care for your child while at school.
FOOD ALLERGY/ANAPHYLAXIS
If your child has a food allergy or another life threatening allergy and an epinephrine auto injector is prescribed (Auvi-Q, Epi-Pen, Epi-Pen Jr, Adrenaclick or any other generic version of EpiPen prescribed) please complete the anaphylaxis emergency care plan.
Please note that all office staff and teachers are trained on how to identify anaphylaxis and administer an epinephrine auto injector annually.
Per CDE 49414 Each school site has one Epi-Pen Jr and one Epi-Pen in case of an emergency.
SEIZURE DISORDER If your child has a seizure disorder please complete the seizure emergency care plan. The emergency care plan will provide the staff and school nurse with the necessary information to care for your child. If your child is prescribed Diastat the principal and school nurse will identify staff to be trained on how to administer it in case of an emergency.
OVER THE COUNTER MEDICATION
If your child needs over the counter medication (cough syrup, eye drops, lotions, Tylenol or another form of acetaminophen) other than an inhaler or an epinephrine auto injector please complete this medication authorization form and return it to the health clerk.
Prescription medication must be in the original container labeled by a California pharmacy with the student’s name, medication name, dose/strength and specific administration directions.
Non-prescription (Over-the-counter) medications must be in the original container labeled by the manufacturer’s label with the medication name, dosage, and instruction. Over-the-counter medication includes and not limited to: cough drops, pain relieving medications, antacids, or allergy relieving medications.
