Coker Handbook Tidbits-Updates
All staff members please take a look at the Coker Handbook as it stands today and submit suggestions for revisions, edits and additions by June 3, 2016.
- Members of the staff who serve as the POC for that item, should review all content pertaining to them and email Tiffany with changes by June 3, 2016.
Employee Benefits
It is that time of year when teachers and staff may have questions regarding benefits if they separate from North East ISD.
If a teacher/staff completes the school year and separates with an effective date of June 3, 2016 or later for the 2015/2016 school year, benefits for Medical, Dental, Vision and the Employee Assistance Program will continue through August 31, 2016. For all other separations, please refer to the FAQs Chart of when specific benefits end:
http://www.neisd.net/documents/FormerEmpBeneFAQs.pdf
Benefits Specialists are also available to discuss COBRA and insurance portability at 210-407-0187.
End of School Year Classroom Preparations Procedures
The End of School Year Classroom Preparations Procedures have changed since the printing of our End of year Checklists. The information below will replace the NEISD procedures from Attachment F:
All personal items should be removed from the classroom and taken home for the summer. The school district is not responsible for any personal materials left on a campus. Having to remove personal items by custodial staff interferes with summer cleaning.
Curriculum-based personal and district owned instructional materials may remain in the classroom but must be stored in containers labeled "Instructional Items" with your name and phone number affixed to the outside of each container and neatly stacked. Plastic bins are available for purchase from the warehouse for district owned items.
Remove all clutter from countertops, bookshelves and floors to permit the custodians to clean unimpeded. Do not cover shelving with paper
as it will have to be removed in order to clean.
Please do not ask custodians to assist you with the packing or removal of personal items as they have their own campus-wide responsibilities. Each campus should have push carts and two-wheelers available for district employee use; please return them to a custodian.
Our Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) department will do their annual random assessments of the classrooms during the summer break. Research shows that removing and reducing clutter on campus facilities reduces the incidents of illness, respiratory and asthma attacks.
Wall hangings will no longer be required to be removed unless your campus administrator has been informed by custodial services that the walls in a room will be painted over the summer.
The Campus Expectations will remain the same.
Create memories.
