From the Desk of Mr. Tiemann
Mark your calendars for the District Art Show and Empty Bowls Ice Cream Social, Thursday, May 7, from 6:00 to 8:00pm, at AGS Middle School!
…..ALL 5th GRADERS will have an individual artwork in the show.
…..ALL CLASSROOMS, grades 1st through 4th, will have a select number of students with individual artwork in the show (these students will be notified).
…..ALL STUDENTS, Kindergarten through 4th grade, will have their artistic contributions represented, as each has had part in creating a collaborative mural at their grade level.
This is a great opportunity to appreciate not only your own child’s artwork, but that of students across the district art program -- kindergarten through twelfth grade.
THANK YOU to Mr. Smith, and all of the district Art Teachers, for their hard work preparing our students (and their art work) for this awesome event!!!

NEWS FROM OUR PTO!
Happy Spring State Road Families!
Open Board positions for next school year
Are you, or someone you know, interested in getting involved with the PTO? Do you want to help a great group of parents and teachers work to make State Road the best school we can? We have 2 positions open for next year, Vice-President and Assistant Treasurer. We need to vote in new members at our next and final PTO meeting of this school year next month. Please consider joining us! If interested, there is a sign-up sheet on the PTO board at school or ask a board member for more info. We look forward to another great year!
Staff Appreciation week
Staff Appreciation Week starts May 4th, and PTO has planned a full week of love and thanks to show our staff how much we appreciate everything they do for our little ones! We are still in need of some donations to make this possible. If you are able to, please follow the sign-up genius link below. Thank you for helping us show the staff that what they do does not go unnoticed and appreciated! We love State Road staff!
Our State Road garage sale is scheduled for May 9th. Please keep us in mind as you “spring clean”. Donations are what makes this a success! We will also need volunteers to help set up Friday May 8th, work the sale on the 9th and help break down. Please let Nancy Parker or a board member know if you have donations or are able to help! Thank You!
Keep clipping those box tops! We are still working our way to our total year goal of $5,000! Remember, if we reach it Mr. Tiemann has agreed to be duct taped to the wall!
Thank you for your continued support!

STATE ROAD IS RECYCLING!!! Thank you for your support!!!
We are continuing to make progress on our recycling programs and have added new items to our list! We are now recycling any brand toothpaste (empty tubes and caps), toothbrushes (and packaging), and floss containers! In just over 2 months we have managed to keep more than 80.5 lbs. of material out of the landfill!!! Please continue to encourage your student(s) to recycle during lunch and continue sending in any juice pouches, fruit & vegetable squeeze pouches, tape dispensers (outside plastic case and/or center roll) writing utensils (pens, sharpies, mechanical pencils, and markers), printer cartridges and glue bottles. State Road earns $$ through these programs, so it really is a double win for all of us! Thank You!

Please Help Prevent the Spread of Sickness, Head Lice, etc...
Parents: We have had a several reported cased of Strep Throat and the flu in the past few weeks. The best way to prevent the spread of sickness, communicable diseases, or issues such as head lice is to take preventative steps at home prior to sending your child to school. Please also contact the office right away to let us know of any sickness or confirmed case of lice that your child may have. For more ‘health’ related information, please visit the State Road website and select “Student Health Info” under the Information Tab. Thank you!
Please visit the "Student Health Information" section of our website (link below) for more information!
