Elkton Elementary School Memo
Distant Learning Resources for Parents/Students
Letter From Mrs. Palmer, EES Principal
Today, out of an abundance of caution for the health, welfare, and safety or our students, RCPS schools will be closing for two weeks, March 16-27th due to the Coronavirus. This order came from Gov. Northam. This link, coronavirus (COVID-19), provides more information about the virus and the pre-cautions needed to keep everyone safe.
This memo today provides grade level distant learning for your child during the time out of school. The daily activities provide learning opportunities for your child. It also provides additional resources that can be used with your child. Teachers are going to stay in contact with you as well through email/SeeSaw. You will be notified when you can come to school to pick up the packets (certain grade levels).
These activities are not mandatory and will not be graded. They are meant to keep your child's mind and body moving during an extended break from school.
The county is working on a plan to feed our 2-18 population two meals a day. This plan is still being organized and I will update you when it is finalized.
Please continue to check email and text messages for updates. If you have any questions, feel free to email me (bpalmer@rockingham.k12.va.us) or your child's teacher. The school is closed to all staff until Wednesday, March 18th. At that time, you may call the school at 298-1511.
Our first priority is the health and safety of our students and we are doing everything possible to ensure that your child will continue learning.
