Gwinnett County 2018 Career Expo
Be sure to attend the 2018 Career Expo hosted by the Gwinnett County Department of Human Resources! This free event will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018, from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, located at 75 Langley Drive in Lawrenceville.
The Career Expo provides career seekers with the opportunity to meet face-to-face with department representatives and learn about current and future opportunities in a variety of fields, including information technology, skilled trades and grounds maintenance, administrative/clerical, public safety, engineering, project management, accounting and finance, and customer service.
Representatives from the Department of Human Resources will be onsite providing free résumé critiques. There will also be presentations in the morning over a variety of topics.

The PBEO Job Fair will be held at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, from Dec. 9–12, 2018.

HOW DO I FIND JOBS FOR ALUMNI ON HANDSHAKE?
- Click on the "Jobs" tab
- Underneath the search bars, click on "Filters." A menu will appear directly beneath.
- For Job Type, select "Job" and "Full-Time"
- Select the checkbox next to "Paid roles only"
- Click the little blue down arrow next to "All employer preferences match" (NOT the checkbox)
- Select the checkbox next to "School Year: Alumni"
- Feel free to add other filters that match with your specific job-search, such as Industry or Job Function. Please note that sometimes choosing too many filters will fail to pull results. If this happens, simply go back to your filters and select one to remove.
- You can save these filter settings by clicking the blue "Create Search Alert" button to the right of the job postings.

Progressive Insurance is hiring a Claims Adjuster Trainee!
As a claims adjuster on their team, you'll help customers get back on the road after an accident. Managing the claims process from start to finish, you'll maintain strong relationships with customers while resolving auto claims efficiently.
Primarily over the phone in a fast-paced office environment, you'll rely on your decision-making and multitasking skills to resolve a high volume of claims. Bring your passion for helping others to their team and Progressive will teach you the insurance stuff. We'll provide training on property damage and insurance contracts so you can confidently and independently adjust claims.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Determine liability (who's at fault for the damages)
- Interview customers, claimants, and witnesses
- Partner with appraisers/estimators to manage vehicle repairs
- Negotiate with customers and other insurance carriers
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or a combined total of five years of work experience and/or college education
- Work or educational experience must include: making decisions, solving problems, planning, prioritizing and organizing, effectively communicating verbally and in writing, customer service
- Valid driver's license

ACRT Services is hiring Roving Utility Foresters!
Our Rover field positions are ideal for professionals with an educational background in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, environmental studies, conservation or related disciplines and seasoned professionals with experience in these fields and line of work. We also train so someone with a passion for working outdoors is also ideal. Roving Utility Foresters travel extensively to perform tree inspection, multiple contract set-up, and evaluation of utility
line systems. Rovers may also be first responders to storm situations such as hurricanes, tropical storms, outage work caused by fires, etc. This is your chance to be on the forefront of events that are shaping the industry!
***This position involves frequent and extensive statewide and/or national travel.
Requirements:
- Ability to work independently, strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in rugged terrain and inclement weather including smoke
- Ability to read and follow maps
- Valid Driver License with good driving record
- Must be 21 years of age
Desired Qualifications:
- Degree or experience in Forestry, Horticulture, Natural Resources or related fields
- Ability to identify local trees and knowledge of growth rates
